What is it?
It is a special week that seeks to allow local schools and communities an opportunity to take some time and thank any adult school crossing guards for their time and efforts.

In early December, a DPI information and resource mailing will be sent out to all public elementary school principals. The mailing will include:

Unfortunately, the work and dedication of those who serve as adult crossing guards is often overlooked, or even taken for granted. The idea was discussed and it was decided to seek a week that coul dbe dedicated to allowing local schools teh opportunity to maybe plan one or more special regognition activities to honror any crosing guards that provide service to their school and/or community's schools.
