    VADETS

Virginia Association of Driver Education and Traffic Safety

The Virginia Association of Driver Education and Traffic Safety (VADETS) is our statewide association for the improvement of driver education and traffic safety.

VADETS was created by a group of educators during the 1970-71 school year to assist driver education teachers in Virginia to gain knowledge regarding the best practices needed to teach young drivers how to learn to drive a motor vehicle. The current executive director of VADETS, Dick Tyson, was among the group of Virginia educators who participated in establishing VADETS.

The economic cost of motor vehicle accidents was calculated to be over $150 billion per year . The human costs cannot be evaluated.
